Danielle Boisvert is an experienced criminal defense lawyer, born and raised in Edmonton, AB. To her, being able to serve the Edmonton community is a privilege. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with distinction in 2000 from the University of Alberta. Following graduation, she started working in the private sector. While attending Queen’s University Law School, specifically to become a criminal defense lawyer, she worked in the Queen’s Legal Aid Clinic. She was awarded the Robinson-Ryan Award in 2007 for her work at the Legal Aid Clinic and became licensed to practice law in Alberta in 2008. In 2023, she was the recipient of the inaugural Criminal Trial Lawyer Association Mary Moreau Award in recognition of her significant contribution to the enrichment of Civil Liberties and the advancement of women in the practice of Criminal Defence. As President, she was part of a team of defence lawyers who led a job action against the Government of Alberta for increased pay and access to justice in 2022. This restructuring significantly increased fees paid to lawyers representing clients on Legal Aid certificates.
